Is leaving a cross at a pagan site a 'hate crime'?

Apparently, a group of pagans at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs thinks so, and compares it to, "someone leaving a pentacle or a pagan symbol at the Cadet Chapel's altar." They are accusing the academy of not taking their complaint seriously. Read more, on The Denver Post.
